We had  two firsts for GB Minifootball and England 6 a side last night.

Firstly, England qualified for the last 16 of the WMF 6 a side World Cup in the UAE after the most one sided 0-0 draw we have ever seen. The draw guaranteed us a qualification place in the last 16 and we eventually finished 2nd in the group.

Secondly and another first, our website crashed due to the amount of visitors who clicked on our website. We tried our best to get it back up as quickly as a possible and we eventually got it back up at 4 am in the morning.

Mark Staines, GB Minifootbal president said, ” With everyone out in the UAE we really appreciated our IT team back home burning the midnight oil to get the website back up. To be honest, it a compliment that the website crashed but it certainly caused us a few problems”

England continue their journey and John Paul Collier said ” We have had so many messages or support that I am not surprised the website crashed, we just hope we are doing everyone proud. To reach the last 16 of a World Cup for the first is something no one can ever take away from us.

We have a difficult game against a very strong Bulgaria team but with our performances so far in this amazing competition, we are feeling very confident that we can carry on our journey in this incredible stadium and country”
