“The Support the EMF and WMF give their referees is second to none in any format of the small sided game” said Martin Cassidy Head of Referees, Vice President for the GBMFU and Referee coordinator for the EMF. ” It’s clear that the EMF and WMF referees are truly supported and trusted to safely deliver these events without outside influence. Having someone of Istvan’s quality and experience brings an added level of confidence in the group as a whole.  ” Martin, who has been involved in many World Cup’s, Champions League and other small sided football events continued ” I have been very impressed with the referees I have seen recently and with the support they receive, it’s clear that the EMF and WMF are leaders in the small sided game and I am very happy to be involved with such a very professional, driven and friendly organisation”

The World Cup follows the amazing success of the two EMF Tournaments over the last couple of months we have received some amazing feedback from the referees.

It is important that federations keep to their promises about treating referees well and ensuring they stay in top class hotels and are paid for the games they referee as well as all of their expenses.

At the Imperial Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach Bulgaria saw all referees receive an all-inclusive packages for their stay during the EURO Cup. They also had some important down time to explore the resort and have some rest between games.

Both tournaments had referees from  England, Bulgaria, Bosnia, The Czech Republic, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, England and Serbia and the camaraderie was brilliant.

The hard work by the referees at both events was appreciated by all involved and atmosphere was incredible away from the pitch.

It must be noted that the local organisation committee delivered two incredible events proving that the EMF is the place to be for the Minifootball Family.

GBMFU had one of our referees attend the Champions League and he delivered some very professional performances. Sorinel Paraschiv, who is another very experienced referee, refereed the semi final of the Champions League were the actual winners of the tournament, Sporting Bratsvo were triumphant. It was another very impressive performance from one of our referees.

Mark Staines, who is GB Minifootball President, was also head of discipline for these events and he was equally impressed with the organisation and referee talent, “The weather was really hot and the refs displayed a great level of fitness” he continued “ The level of organisation at both events enabled the EMF to deliver two great events and I must praise both of our Romanian and Bulgarian federations who delivered two very impressive events.

There is no doubt that the future of the EMF is good hands and has a very bright future. We won’t be resting however,  as I am now looking forward to the Business Cup in Turkey and I fly straight from there to the WMF World Cup in Ras Al-Khaimah”

Minifootball is striving and we love it.
